The Jerry Long YMCA was the first Evacuator installed for the YMCAs of Northwest North Carolina. The air problems inside were a combination of excessive chloramine production and an ineffective dehumidification system. The old air handling unit had failed, therefore the humidity inside was intolerable. Combined with the airborne chloramines released from the pool’s heavy bather load and warm water, the air quality was dismal.
The solution at Jerry Long YMCA involved a full air system replacement, incorporating the Evacuator. The dehumidifier was replaced with a new AAON unit designed by Adams Companies, and the Evacuator was installed by Paddock Construction Company and CCAC.
The result is a pristine, FreshAIR facility with happy patrons.
